Apparently, my dad was so worried about me that he hired a detective to watch the house--"Just in case," as he put it. Well, the guy didn't see anything more suspicious than Martin. But he did report him to my dad.

Hmm. I thought your dad knew all about Martin living with you?

And I know you agree with him. But it worked out pretty well. I did feel safer with Martin around. And nothing really happened.

No. He surprised us. He drove down to San Francisco last Friday night and caught us at home together. No, we weren't having sex. We were just watching TV and eating a late dinner. But my dad...you'd think that eating and watching TV was a carnal sin.

Don't say it, Doctor. I've heard it all. The good news is that the detective guy didn't really see anything suspicious in all the time he had been watching the house. So I feel a lot safer now, even without Martin.

He's back in his old apartment. My dad stayed with me the whole weekend just to be sure.
