Mr. Howard:
Hello. Is this Dr. Balis?
Dr. Balis:
Yes it is, may I ask who is calling?
Mr. Howard:
Yes, this is Luke Howard. I'm Eliza Raven's fiancé.
Dr. Balis:
Hello Mr. Howard. What can I do for you?
Mr. Howard:
Well, Lizzy came home yesterday, bawling her eyes out. Apparently you forced her to talk about her family, which happens to be a very difficult subject for her.
Dr. Balis:
First, Mr. Howard, you must know that I can't talk about what goes on in our sessions...
Mr. Howard:
I figured you'd say that. However, I'm warning you. If she comes home crying after her next visit to you, I'm going to be forced to have one of my lawyers talk with you.
Dr. Balis:
Talk to me about what, counseling a patient who has an upsetting past? I'm sorry if it bothers you, but...
Mr. Howard:
There are no buts about it! From now on, I will be providing Lizzy with a list to give to you at the beginning of your sessions, and on that list will be the subjects that are appropriate for the two of you to discuss. None of this stuff that upsets her! The reason she is there is because of her crying episodes and I don't think you're helping her much by forcing her into them!
Dr. Balis:
Mr. Howard, Eliza is my patient, not you. I will do what I think necessary and appropriate...
Mr. Howard:
I'm not interested in your crap, Doctor. Now if you'll excuse me, I have things to do. I hope you'll consider what I've said and not diminish yourself further in my eyes.
Dr. Balis:
Mr. Howard? Hello? Hello?
