I can't believe it's been a month since I left California. The East Coast is very different. People seem more into themselves and into being yuppy, but then I could be imagining it. I've been doing some consulting work. I figured it would be best to keep my life as short term and as simple as possible. That way, if things don't work out, I can pack up and leave whenever I want. Besides, contracting is a great way to make big bucks. The other night, just for the heck of it, I went to see the revival of "Gone With The Wind." Rhett Butler reminded me of you. He's a strong man with a good head on his shoulders. He tries to be as fair as possible. I hope no one ever treats you as poorly as Scarlett treated Rhett. I guess what I'm saying is that I kind of miss you. Yup, I actually miss our sessions. Don't worry, it's not because I've fallen madly in love with my doctor, but because you are a good person. Okay, enough mushy stuff! =) My grandparents and I are still in a "feeling each other out" kind of mode. I don't know them, they don't know me. They are trying to like me, but I really don't know if this will work. I try to be as understanding as possible. But sometimes, I just want to scream at them: "It's not my fault that all of this happened." I just want them to love me because I am part of them. *sigh* I'll keep trying to be patient. It's only been a month, they just need time. You will be happy to hear that I am dating someone! His name is Mike and he's spectacular. He is an Internet geek and works for a local Internet service provider in Virginia. (By the way, I'm living in Virginia, not DC--it's safer in the burbs.) We've been seeing each other for a few weeks now. He is intelligent, witty, cynical enough to make me laugh, generous, kind-hearted, and trustworthy--so far. Hee hee! I really like him a lot and I am so excited about this relationship. Dr. B, this is the first time I've really had those tingles. I don't really know how to describe it! Well, enough yakking! I'm sure you have plenty of things on your schedule that need attention. With fond regards, Olivia (and Sherman too...*woof woof*) |
