July 29, 1996 Mr. George Eisenstadt CalaCare HMO Dear Mr. Eisenstadt: I wish to be as cooperative as I can, but I really can't release transcripts of patient sessions without the permission of the patient. I spoke with an attorney friend of mine and he told me that the psychotherapist/patient privilege is part of the laws of the State of California. He told me to direct you to California Evidence Code Sections 1010 et seq. which defines the privilege.
