Ms. Alvidrez: SII, Tom Utterman's office. How may I help you?
Dr. Balis: Nina Alvidrez, please.
Ms. Alvidrez: This is she.
Dr. Balis: Hello, Nina. This is Doctor Balis.
Ms. Alvidrez: Oh. Uh hi, Doctor Balis.
Dr. Balis: You missed your appointment. I wanted to make sure everything was all right.
Ms. Alvidrez: Um, I'm sorry, Doctor Balis. I...uh, the time just slipped away from me, and I forgot.
Dr. Balis: I see. In the...
Ms. Alvidrez: I'm really sorry, Doctor Balis. You probably hate me now for being so stupid. I can't believe I forgot about the appointment. I wrote it down on my desk calendar and everything. I'm just so spacey sometimes, and I forget things. I really am sorry, Doctor Balis. I promise to try harder.
Dr. Balis: It's okay, Nina. I was concerned that you might have been sick.
Ms. Alvidrez: You were? You thought something might have happened to me?
Dr. Balis: I worry when my patients miss their appointments.
Ms. Alvidrez: I didn't realize that you cared that much. Most doctors wouldn't call personally if their patient missed an appointment.
Dr. Balis: I wanted to make sure that you are all right, and I wanted to reschedule your appointment. I think it's very important for you to do your best and make it to each appointment.
Ms. Alvidrez: I'm really sorry, Doctor Balis. Really, I am. How can I make it up to you?
Dr. Balis: You haven't upset me or hurt my feelings, Nina. There's no need to make amends. Let's just move forward and make another appointment, okay?
Ms. Alvidrez: Sure, sure. Can I just come in for my next appointment?
Dr. Balis: No. I think that would be too far off in the future. How about this Thursday, July 16th, at ten in the morning? I have an opening.
Ms. Alvidrez: Okay, Doctor Balis. And it won't happen again, I promise; I'll be there when I say I will.
Dr. Balis: Good. I'll see you in three days. Have a good day, Nina.
Ms. Alvidrez: You too, Doctor Balis. Goodbye and thank you.
